Hallertau pils is brewed as an ode to the industrial German pilsners of the 50’s to the late 70’s when technology allowed more efficient processes, but the liquid was still brewed “the old way”. We use a double decoction mash, 100% German Pilsner malt, and 100% German Hallertau Mittlefru hops.

16 ounce can from brewery. Bright, honey gold pour. Frothy, white head. Bready, earthy yeast nose. Grainy malt flavor is sweet and hoppy. Herbal hops hint at lavender and sage. Classically brewed and the result is like a breath of Alpine air. Outstanding.

A golden pils with a thin white head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with German hops, light mineral notes, pleasant. In mouth, a nice biscuit malt with grassy German hops, light cereals, pleasant. On tap at brewery.

On tap at Ivan Ramen. Pours a clear light yellow gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges quickly and nearly completely. Aroma has a nice hay supported by straw and a bit of crisp grass. Flavor has lots of hay with a growing grass and straw underlying.

Tap at HR. Filtered orange tan body. Massive pillowy white head. A touch sweet to me, but a chewy hop tone to balance it out. Quite a true European feel, perhaps a little better ingredients than typical. Big flavor for a Pils, supreme depth. Grows on me each sip.

Deliciously crisp sweetness. Really like this German pils. Caramel bready yeasty goodness.

Can from Tavour. Pours gold with a huge frothy white head. Aroma is lightly bready with so much grass/spice I can smell it through 3 inches of foam. Med body - foamy feel. Flavor is very Saaz grass with some spice notes. Lightly bready. Moderately bitter. Really tasty. Well done.
