16Fl Oz on tap at SawDust, Laguna Beach. Into a plastic cup on 12th December 2021. Red hue to the body, off-white wispy head. Malty front to the nose and taste, caramel notes and a sweetness throughout, light hoppy finish for balance.

12 oz can from Raley's. Dark amber, foamy head fades. Aroma is fruity, malty, raisins. Dry, dusty malts in the taste. Dull bitterness at the end.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a ruby glow and a thinnish tan head. Aroma of toasted malts, light chocolate, a dose of nuts and earth with a hint of grain and astringent alcohol. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong grainy and malt flavours dominate with only a touch of caramelised sugar sweetness on the back without much of anything else - some light chocolate and earthiness comes through at the end, but that's about it. Aftertaste shows a touch of earth and sweetness, but the grainy malt dominates here with a light alcohol bite at the end with some nuts and a relatively easy-drinking beer with only the grain to finish things off. Overall, a decent enough beer without much flavour aside from the nuts and earth with the light sugars and some astringency on the finish. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Raley's [grocery store] in Fairfield, California on 10-March-2019 for US$6,99 as part of a four-pack sampler, sampled in my hotel room here in Lake Buena Vista, Florida on 17-April-2019.

Can from World Market in Davis, CA. Pours clear dark copper with a slight beige head. Aroma is slight roasty malt with a barest hint of piney hop. Med body, nearly. Flavor matches the aroma. Better than some ambers. At least I'm not getting chocolate notes.

Keg at the SLO brewpub, 30/04/14. Lightly hazed reddish amber with a thin off white head that quickly dissupates to nyadda - not a looker, just scrapes a 3 - nah it’s a 2 the ugly fecker! Nose is caramel, light spice, fruit rind, brown sugars. Taste comprises light coconut shavings, caramel, biscuit crumble, soft fleshy fruits. Medium boded, fine carbonation, semi drying close. So so amber shmamber. Medium bodied
