Getting your hands on an Anchorage is always a treat. But a Quadruple IPA brewed and double dry hopped with Vic Secret? Now THAT’S something REALLY special.

We’re expecting tropical notes of pineapple and passion fruit to swirl alongside swaths of bright citrus. As the sip fades, notes of resinous pine and grapefruit pith should beautifully balance out the sweetness of the malts while helping keep that boozy 11.4% ABV dangerously smooth.

Can from Tavour. Pours hazy gold with a large creamy white head that persisted. Aroma of citrus/pine. Med body. Flavor is lots of grapefruit with pine and arguably pineapple - there's a touch of ripeness indicating it's not passion fruit. Not dry, but not very sweet. Bitter for sure, but far from harsh. Incredible flavor.

From a 473ml can on 18/1/2025. Pours a dirty hazy golden with a medium to biggish head. The nose is citrussy with some mild tropical notes, but relatively subdued given the size. Makes up for it on the sip, where the intensity and complexity is high. Citrus dominates with lots of orange, mandarin lemon and lime, with some peach, mango and honey presenting also, against a light background of bready malt. It's quite bitter, lightly astringent and warming at the back, with the pithy, zesty hops lingering long after the sip. The palate is silky and almost a touch syrupy, with moderate carbonation. Definitely a quite singular experience. Challenging, super intense, but it all makes sense. Really well done.

2024 version says Brewed and DDH with Vic Secret hops. Almost opaque orange with a dense cm+ of white head. Aroma of oranges, lime, peach, menthol, light bread. Slightly muted in the aroma but quite vibrant in the taste. Somewhat chalky texture but it's sharpened (but no more) by a little astringency at the intensely aromatic but moderately bitter end. You feel the weight there but the finish is great. Walks several tightropes.

Pint can pours with a murky glowing copper gold colored body that supports a full light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up a load of peach, mango, guava, pineapple and then a dash of lime. Geez. The taste is smooth and balanced with a pleasing load of mango, guava, peach and growing grapefruit like bitterness. The bitterness remains restrained and in check next to the softer sweet tropical notes but holds off the sweetness nicely. The ABV is very well hidden. So much so, it begs questions. Darn fine brew. Well done.

Flavor shows the tropical notes, candied mango, no bitterness at all. A lot of juice character. It does shows herbal presence at room temp. Pretty damn good!

I haven't had great luck with Anchorage cans via Tavour but damn this is great. Thick, hoppy, not too much stonefruit which is what I'd expect from a quad like this. Grassy mangos, insanely well done.

16 oz can from Tavour. Hazy orange pour with thick, fluffy head. Citrusy, bitter aroma, orange zest. Taste features a nice zing, bitter, tangy, sweet. Thick, creamy feel. Smooth for a high ABV beer.
