Jet black pour, big, frothy dark beige head. Aroma is very roasty, dark roast coffee, bitter cocoa powder, bitter licorice, and some subtle pine resins. Oily mouth feel, slightly high carb. Very, highly bitter finish, with a strong acidity, to go with alot of pine resins in the end. Interesting to say the least.

Bottle at the brewery. Getting messed up by now, so ratings are falling to pieces. Aroma roasty, bit choc, bit of smoke, meaty. Taste smoky and roasty. Bit of creaminess too. Pretty good. Many spelling mistakes to correct in my notes. I needed a break at this stage.

Brown bottle, 330 ml, bottled on 07/01/16, best before 07/01/17, drunk at L’autre œil, savoured on October 21 2017; eye: black, opaque, good sheet of beige head that thins rapidly, no lacing; nose: chocolate, caramel, light roasting, slight alcohol; mouth: chocolate, caramel, light roasting, slight alcohol, bittering hops, light alcohol warmth, finale in chocolate with good presence of bittering hops, full body, average carbonation, mildly bitter, slightly sweet, foamy and lightly alcoholic texture; overall: nice surprise

Bouteille brune, 330 ml, embouteillée le 07/01/16, meilleure avant 07/01/17, bue à L’autre œil, savourée le 21 octobre 2017; œil : noire, opaque, bonne couverture de mousse beige qui s’amincit rapidement, pas de dentelle; nez : chocolat, caramel, léger torréfaction, très léger alcool; bouche : chocolat, caramel, léger torréfaction, très léger alcool, houblon amérisant, léger chaleur d’alcool, finale en chocolat avec bonne présence de houblon amérisant, corsée, carbonatation moyenne, moyennement amère, très légèrement sucrée, texture mousseuse et légèrement alcoolique; en résumé : belle surprise

(bottle, 33cl, 7.7% abv) Black colour with a brown and short foamy head. Strong notes of coffee ground, hints of dark chocolate and burnt notes. Bitter flavour, medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Bonedry roasty malt character with loads of ground coffee and traces of dark chocolate; dry and lasting finish with assertive coffee flavours. Extreme but well-made. 08.II.18

Bottle says 7.7 abv. Black with no head. Aroma is coffe ground, some licorice, molasses, dark chocolate, hints of cinnamon. Taste is dry licorice and molasses, a bit squeakiness in the finish. Dry coffee finish. Low carbonation. Nice.

Bottle, as "Stout (7.7%)" . Darkest brown color with beige head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, earthy. Taste is chocolate, earthy, liquorice, leathery. Oily mouthfeel with natural carbonation. Very good!

Black with thick creamy head. Aroma has some heavily roasted malts and even a little smokiness. Flavour is very bitter with burnt malts and coffee. Very creamy and rich texture.

Bittle, 7.7% abv (thanks fatphil). Pours dark brown, blsck with beige head. Aroma is sweet, roast, malt,. Flavor is sweet and bitter, roast, malt, coffee, bit acidic. Finish is roast bitter. Overall: very good.
