RB backlog. Toasted coconut, cocoa, ethanol, residual sugars, maple. High sweetness, toasty, a little sharp. Super thick body, you can feel the sugars working your teeth. Good soft carbonation. Not a bad one, not a great one. Eager to show off.

chunk of coconut, some indeterminate sweetness, but one-dimensional and thin. Needs more body, and better balance. Very alcoholic. Where is the maple? Not bad, but disappointing. This combination could be great.

33cl can, BB 04/10/2018 @ Niamey craft beer tasting, bought at Drink Store Barcelona.

Fast gone russet-tan head over black beer. Vanilla, roast, ashes, and an aroma that is at least akin to coconut; rum. Very roasted/burnt, but with a remarkable finish that reminds me utterly of vintage portwine or very sweet sherry as oloroso. Bit meaty too. Again traces of vanilla/coconut; fusely. Warming up, more and more liquorice. Well-bodied, obviously, but less opulent than some. Calling it refreshing would be stretching it, but it is lighter than one links to RIS. Yet not much more than medium carbonation. Special, and hence good; 7/4/8/3/15

(can, 33cl) Almost black colour with a short and tanned foamy head. Boozey and slightly roasted malty aroma with noters of chocolate. Bitter flavour, full bodied with a soft carbonation. Moderately roasted malt character with chocolate, mocha and present notes of coconuts, leading into a lasting finish with hints of booze and coconut oil. Not perfectly balanced but the coconut flavours are very charming. 08.II.18

On tap at Lajbah, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out earthy roasted malt, with a bit of chalk and light cocoa powder. Flavour is earthy and chalky, with dry cocoa, moderate roast and some earthy notes. Chocolatey and silky mouthfeel. Nicely done.

Can, 0.33l. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and coconut. Pours clear almost black color with thin quickly diminishing light brown head and soft visible carbonation. Taste starts with medium sweet but rich roasted malt, chocolate and coffee, follows by maple syrup, licorice and whiskey, mouthfeel is warm and slightly medicinal, while finish is mild bitter. Full body, syrupy texture and soft carbonation in palate. Tasty without excessive dose of coconut and maple syrup...

Black with little head. Aroma is dark chocolate, coffe ground, vanilla, dried leaves. Taste is sweet dark chocolate, coconut oils, some wood flavours. Smoothest. Drinkable and nice. Recipe works.

Can. Darkest brown, creamy brown head. Dry roast and burned sugar nose. Medium full, light sticky spun sugar, caramel, cocoa nibs, cheap pralines, coconut, Especially in the aftertaste. A bit too sweet in the finish.

Bottle. Dark brown color with beige head. Aroma is coconut, ethanol, chocolate, maple, a bit too alcoholic in the aroma. Taste is coconut, maple, intense molasses, liquorice. Aftertaste of coconut flakes. Silky mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Good!
