(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, dark brown colour with a beige and short foamy head. Mildly roasted malty nose with hints of marzipan, milk chocolate and a whiff of liquorice. Moderately sweet flavour, medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Slightly roasted malt character with a touch of chocolate, liquorice and mocha; sweet-bitter moderately roast-malty finish. Not an archetypical but well-drinkable Imp. Stout. 08.II.18

Fläschchen (Dank nach Garching!): Almost black with a ruby sheen, small but stable tanned head; toasted malt, liquorice, molasses and a tinge of leather in the relatively dry bitter-sweet nose; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied, not too smooth; lingering leathery, toasty and fruity finish. Not that bad, but lacks a bit complexity...

Brownish. Aroma is syrup and dark chocolate, some nice flowers, vanilla. Taste is sweet chocolate syrup at first with some coffee/toffee stuff later. A bit of bitter hinge counterpoint. Not bad.

Bottle, dark brown, offwhite lace. Honeyish dry roast. Medium body, dry, roast grain, light chocolate, light sticky, a bit cheesy, dry hay finish.

0.33 l bottle from the brewery’s web shop, best before April 2018. Black with a medium large, foamy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty aroma of milk chocolate, sweet coffee and some hazelnut. Rather sweet, slightly roasty-malty taste of milk chocolate, milk coffee, hazelnut and hints of licorice, followed by a medium long, moderately roasty-bitter, just a little dry finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Tasty, resembles an Oatmeal Stout, not too deep but well-balanced and satisfying.
