Pecan Pie Thief is our dark Pecan Pie Wheatwine creation with the brisket/pie wizards over at Little Miss BBQ. We gathered 75 pounds of Arizona-grown pecans and had Little Miss give them a light/quick smoke over pecan wood before adding them at various stages in the brewing process. The beer was then further aged on a hefty amount of vanilla beans just prior to packaging. We are getting incredibly complex caramel & rich nutty aromas, flavor is thick pecan pie filling backed up by some sweet graham cracker crust. Brewed with Lactose.

16 oz. can. Aroma of roasted nuts and very earthy. In the flavor, I wish I could find vanilla, but I don’t. Roasted malt, hint of chocolate and bold earthy tones that last well after the sip. The description of the beer sounds much better than what I actually taste here.

Pours a near black from a can. Roasty malt, light pecan notes, similar flavor. Seems more like an imperial Porter if I’m being honest. Pretty good beer.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours black with an earthy brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of pecan and dark grains with some toffee supporting. Flavor has dark grains and roast with a growing sweet pecan and a touch of chocolate backing.

Dark brown, Froths up big, has a pretty rich chocolate character, lots of booze, quite rich. So the bit of acidity that's in there helps the palate along. I don't get a ton of pecan, or much at all. Someone stole that shit.

16 oz. can, pours a deep dark brown / black with a medium tan head. Aroma brings out burnt, roasted nuts, roasted malt, and some burnt caramel. Flavour is full of burnt caramel, roasted malt, and molasses. Quite burnt and roasted, with plenty of molasses, caramel and roast. Not the most complex barley/wheat wine, but the deep dark roasted and burnt characters give it some nice depth.

Pint can pours with a mahogany colored body that supports a thin tan head of foam. The aroma offers up molasses, vanilla, booze and then a wafer thin soft supple smoke just below a sense of candied nuts. The taste delivers smooth soft sweet malts and wheat and molasses heading into vanilla and booze. Toward the finish a just noticeable soft sweet smokiness swimming around a malty soup is heard. Pretty dang nice and comes together as it warms.
