12 oz from a six pack from the grocery store. This year's version is 6.5% ABV. No sports theme on the label, either. Aroma has notes of pine, coconut, lemon rind. Pours clear golden with a one finger bone-white head with good retention. Taste has a moderate bitterness with flavors like the aroma. Nothing wrong with the palate. A little mediocre, but not bad.

On tap at BitterCreek hazy deep orange with a thin smooth off white head. Big deep pithy citrus and resinous hop aromas and flavors. Full bodied almost chewey. Smooth and long lingering bitter. Powerful and fresh tasting.

I typically avoid all things Seahawks, but I’ll let a beer be an exception here. 22 oz bottle poured. A very light, golden pour with a lasting foam head. Crisp, light pale here. Quite refreshing. A beer that surly pairs well with watching a football game. Hop heavy in the aroma, but not so much in flavor. Very mild flavor overall, more malt than anything else, but drinks really easy. A little boring, but nowhere near being a bad beer. Soft spice. Lingering bitterness. Good.

Draught at Elizabeth Station, Bellingham, WA
Blond color, just hazy. Lean pale ale, dry, refreshing, with delicate malts, very light feuitiness, mild hops. Clean. Light piney and citrusy hops in the final.
But given the name, one would expect more from the hops.

Grunt fill from Albertsons. Clear golden with small frothy head. Soft hoppy aroma , taste is a bit fuller, nice malts with gentle hop bite. Slick and smooth, drinks like a lager, faintest hop bite at the finish. Not a big APA, but pretty damn tasty.

Draught at Ernest Loves Agnes, 11/2/15.
Lightly to moderately hazy, though settling out somewhat. Foamy, rather precarious, white head atop.
Vegetal, stewed hops, overly dominant, cake-like pale malts but at least a fresh, yeasty, lively feel to it overall. Grapefruit alongside apples? Lemon and spongecake. All very odd combinations in the nose.
The flavor is oddly sweet, yet with a dry, grainy feel to the texture. Crystal malt hardness is felt as well, with bitter, pine and citrus-heavy centennial hops. Haven’t been too impressed with Calypso thus far either, and this is no different. Maybe a bit of burnt popcorn-like diacetyl? Or is that just husky, near-astringent malt character? Hard to tell. Not a great start for my first beer in Seattle, especially given my good overall impression of Pelican, but we’ll chalk it up to an off-beer. Finishes fairly sweet with light huskiness and hop acids creating an almost sour feel. Watery with lively carbonation, no alcohol.

On tap at Pelican in Tillamook, pours clear pale blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out toasted malt, some light spicy hops, and light metallic notes. Flavour is fairly astringent but also not very flavourful in the hop department, with floral notes, crackery malt and an earthy metallic finish. Kind of weak but decently balanced. Meh.

Dull tan, earthy hops, touch of berry, some toastiness, a fairly nice balanced ale. Off-dry finish.

On tap at the Tillamook pub. Pours out a straw color topped with a small head. Nose is citrus grass and some malt. Taste is as the nose with a nice grassy citrus hop and a good malt bill.
