It was 25 years ago that we planted our flag in North County San Diego. We showed up to a modest, empty warehouse with some mighty big dreams. We thought people deserved a world with better beer, and were determined to be part of a cultural transformation we believed could happen… even though few others shared our vision. This massive triple IPA is another important milestone on our continuing journey. Speaking of journeys, for reasons you may guess, our 25th Anniversary Celebration in 2021 will be a bit understated for such a monumental anniversary, so we’ve decided to hold our big event in 2022 with the Stone 25+1 Years In The Making Anniversary Celebration. After a quarter of a century and quite a few twists and turns, we’re still here. Here for hops. Here for quality. Here for making great mistakes. Here for more good times. Here for another round. We thank you sincerely for the years of support and pledge that we will, as always, strive to live up to the reasons for your loyalty!
25 years calls for a momentous beer – this Triple IPA will not disappoint! Clocking in at 12.5%, this massively hopped IPA is a true celebration in a bottle of 25 years of exploration, innovation, and of course, great beers. Conceived originally by Kris Ketcham, Sr. Manager, Brewing & Innovation for the 7th Anniversary of Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens – Liberty Station, this beer demanded to be amped up even more and released nationally to celebrate the Big One. Here’s to 25 more!

Can from Geers. Hazy dark orange, small, foamy, off-white head. Aroma of apricot jam, dark honey, dried orange peel, overripe peach, mango, fried onion, old grapefruit juice, diesel, gin. Taste has sweet ripe apricot, mango & orange peel around a bitter core of grapefruit, pine resin, dank onion & diesel against a honeyish, biscuity malt backbone. Bitter, resinous, bit harsh grapefruity hoppy finish with lingering sweet maltiness and warming gin-like alcohol. Full body, oily texture, average carbonation. Very heavy brew, almost a hoppy Barley Wine but just maintaining its profile. Sip with care.

(Draught at Beer Temple, Amsterdam, 4 May 2022) Amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, hoppy nose with caramel, citrus, black-currant and dried fruit. Malty, hoppy taste with notes of caramel, orange peel, black-currant, a warming touch of alcohol and a generous citric/resiny bitterness. Full body, quite sweet. A bit on the boozy side, but really powerful with a generous hop character and a good malt presence. Very nice.

Tap at the infamous BeerTemple, 18th May 2022. Pours a clear honey colour. Aroma is boozy and pine forward. Taste is resinous, bitter and caramel, it’s outrageously drinkable for the abv. I like it man

Can 12floz. from Saaz Landgraaf @home poured into a glass tankard. Brilliant deep amber colour, good creamy off-white head, dissipating slowly, fair lacing. Aroma sweet malts, citrus peel, strong pine resin, caramel, light orange marmalade, alcohol notes. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, pine resin, caramel, orange marmalade, alcohol notes, earthy notes. Full-bodied, oily texture, average carbonation, dry malty resinous bittersweet aftertaste, malty backbone till the finish, heavy brew but alcohol well-hidden, well-balanced, handle with care, very good.
