We first met AF Brew at Borefts Beer Celebration in The Netherlands. They then invited us to head to their festival, Lobotomy Day, in St Petersburg. While we haven’t been able to meet up in person for a while (thanks Covid) we have kept in touch via WhatsApp, and brewed a virtual collab together.

When it came to the beer style we quickly decided on a DIPA.

Best ale malt, wheat and oats make up a velvety smooth malt base for us to load in a heaps of hops in this boisterous DIPA. Galaxy, Citra and Nelson Sauvin shine with punchy dank and fresh cut honey melon aroma whilst bursting with tart gooseberry, juicy blueberry and bright, zesty grapefruit!

very hazy yellow colour, huge, dense and quite stable slightly ecru-ish white head; aroma of pineapple, orange, some mango, biscuity and celery notes; perfectly balanced bittersweet taste with the same notes as can be felt in the aroma; excellent DIPA

Tap at the North bar Harrogate. A hazed golden coloured pour with a sticky white head. Aroma is big dank hop, citrus pineapple, mango, soft wheat, light chive. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, chewy hop, tropical fruits, guava, pineapple, waxy citrus, melon. Palate is semi sweet, chewy, moderate carbonation. Good.

440ml can. Hazy orange, thin white head. Aroma of orange and grapefruit, slightly dank. Taste is citrusy, lots of orange, grapefruit, gooseberry, dank and quite a boozy finish. Medium bodied, not as thick as their hazier stuff. Very nice but boozy DIPA.
