Taster, draught at Taphouse. Low tan-coloured head blanketing the glassware. Deep dark brown coloured body. Mild spiced malty aromas, coffee and chocolate. Taste of Christmas spices such as cinnamon together with black chocolate and liquorice. Lightly malt bitter end. Smooth on the swallow. Fine bodied. Fits the season (Copenhagen 28.11.2014).

2014: Bottle at home. Pours dark brown with beige head. Complex aroma of dark chocolate, vanilla, coconut, lemon zest, some perfume. Strong taste of Christmas spices and chocolate, interestingly matched by citrus freshness. Dry with almost no sweetness at all. Distinctly bitter finish. 2015: Aroma comparable, but a little sweeter and more mild than 2014.

Transparent black color with a fine head. Nice spiced aroma. Fine body for a 4,7% ale. For those who like beer and Christmas spices. This is the real thing. Like me. Maybe to much vanilla sugar. Otherwise nice and tasty stuff.

Bottle (AIH40, Cm-Kivihaka)
Dark brown color, medium-sized brown head. Cocoa beans and light tart toastyness in the aroma. Light-bodied to medium-bodied. Toasted, cocoa, some milky notes, burned maltyness. Interesting cocoa porter, which could be a bit softier.

Bottled@AIH40 (from K Citymarket Kivihaka, Vaasa). Very deep brown colour, mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is ashes, some roast and rye bread. Flavour is spices, some dark chocolate, some herbs, rye and mild toasted notes. Surprisingly robust for being "a food store" strength beer.
