Dark Smoked Lager

Our Schlotfegerla® is a full-bodied, dark smoke beer. The fine beechwood- smoky notes combined with the aroma of espresso invite you to take your first sip. On the tongue it impresses with pronounced notes of malt reminiscent of dark chocolate and bread crust.

Together with the fine smoky impressions it becomes an harmonious, characterful beer that goes well with flavors combine meats and ham.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Naama’s place. Thanks Gilad. Deep amber-brown with a beige head. Nice smoky aroma, slightly meaty, with caramel and some nuts. Malty flavor, sweetish, smoky, with caramel, nuts, and a bit of toast. Medium-bodied.

Bottle at Cafe Abseits Bamberg. Black beer lasting tan head. Tarry malty aroma. Some smoke which builds. Bit thin in mouth. Some chocolate. I mean it’s fine. Chocolate smoke aroma. Aroma is better than the flavour. It’s fine. Bit thin in the mouth.

500ml swing-top bottle at Cafe Abseits shared with Finn, OleR & co, many thanks to Gerhard. Big bubbly tan-coloured head. Opaque dark amber coloured body. Rich malt-fruity smell, nicely smoked. Smoked malty taste with notes of caramel, earth, and dark fruits. Well balanced, tasty and nice (Bamberg 09.10.2014).
