OK, maybe THIS is my final beer rating of 2012. Bottle courtesy of Ken, thank you sir! Very dark brown color, small tan head. Aroma of pleasant Christmas spice. Taste is nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice. Decent.

2012 version. Pours brown with medium beige creamy head. Substantial head that lasts. A gingerbread cookie of a beer, aroma of nutmeg gingerbread. Taste is mildly brown sugar sweet with a hint of dark chocolate bitterness. This is a near perfect Christmas beer.

2012 version, 355ml bottle - a nice dark brew, tan head that laces and lasts. Aroma of cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, toffee, pine and very wintery. Tthe first taste is quite intense, lots of dark fruit, cloves, a bit peppery, orange rind, there’s loads going on. A little spicy finish, a nice beer all in all.

355ml bottle of the 2012 vintage, from Bitter Virtue, Southampton. A deep magohany pour with a thin cream head and a cherry red glow; the aroma is vinous and earthy; but the taste is rather dominated by some rather bitter Christmas spices that clash with the soft fruity body; and leave a thin dry finish. A great start, but a disappointing finish.
