Full golden color. Malty barnyard aroma. The ruralness of the aroma comes back in the flavor. Hopbitter, somewhat malty, and the almost indescribable flavor of a petty farm that has almost disappeared in Holland, but is quite common in Franconia. Interesting pilsener, but well brewed? Not really.

Keg at the brewery. Brilliant gold, with a tall, rocky head. Effervescent bubbles. Lovely biscuity malt nose, spicy, lemony hops. Lightly sweet flavor, lemony, herbal hops, bread / crackers. Great peppery, bitter finish. Crisp and cracking. This outshone the dunkel today. Just so well made. Also the 32 degree hear probably helped.

On tap at the brewery. Golden with a pillowy, lasting white head. Aroma of bready malt with hay, fresh cut grass and herbal hops. Sweetish malty flavour with herbal hops and a nice bitter finish.

Euro-Fläschla: Clear, golden with a greenish sheen, loose medium-sized, slowly collapsing, white head; "rural" grainy nose with a mineralic touch, dominated by aromas of hay or freshly mowed grass; moderate dryish bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied, quite soft; lingering hayish and mineralic finish with a certain - again - rural touch. Nice, archetypal FRANCONIAN Bier...

(bottle) Clear, golden colour with a blond medium-sized foamy head. Honey-ish malty aroma with grainy spots, backed by flowery, mildly spicy hops and a whiff of barnyard. Mildly bitter and delicately sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Smooth malty base with notes of white bread, traces of honey, mineralic accents and a pleasant, slightly spicy hoppy bite from behind; bitter-sweet, mildly hoppy and mineralic finish. A goodie. 29.XI.17

Bottle. Pale golden, white foam. Straw malt, light spongy and broad grassy, herbal hop aroma. Dry minerally, light hay initially, then it broadens out to a elegant sweet chewy malt body. Sparkly, light dry chalky on the palate. A hint salty notes which enhance the hops. Really gets better with every sip, a subtle well-crafted joy.

Bottle. Clear pale golden color with creamy white head. Aroma is hay, grassy hops, flowery, dandelion, citrusy, but also with a surprisingly sweet doughy malt base. Taste is noble hops, hay, grass, some lemony, flowery, a bit mineralic, but the malts are still rather juicy. Mouthfeel is soft with natural carbonation. As well made and zezty as a simple Pils can be, this incorporates all the old world hop goodness with a Franconian sweetish softness. A real surprise, and a real treat!

Bottle @ Hopfen & Malz, Berlin. BB 03/16. Pours clear yellow with a white head. Grain, bread, corn and grass. Rough and husky. Dry and bitter finish. Note: Gonna go to the source and have it in proper condition. Finally: Dec - 17. Fresh at the brewery. From tap. Very herbal and green minerally. Dry and bitter. Lovely. 3,1-3,9
