Description: Brooklyn Intensified Coffee Porter starts as a big, chocolatey ale, ready to take on super powers. The first power is gained from months of aging in Kentucky bourbon barrels. The second arises from delectable beans harvested by our pals at Finca El Manzano Single Origin Coffee in El Salvador. The final power comes from Blue Bottle Coffee, who roast the coffee to perfection. Brace yourself for complex notes of dark chocolate, vanilla, oak, berries, and dried fruit, coming to intensify you.

Draft at Birreria Paradiso. Pitch black with a beige unfading head. Choco-coffee aroma. odd unique mouthfeel..nitro? Sweet, sticky cocoa coffee taste. Not unlike hoppy chocolate syrup. Somewhat sandy and dry mid-sip. Huge roasty flavor. Interesting, and well done.

Notes form June 2009 32oz growler from New Beer. Poured into a Sly Fox shaker. Big, beautiful cascading russet head. Tar black body. Instant cocoa mix aroma, alcohol & charred custard, flour, grass. Decent, but a bit too mild. Creamer, & medium strength coffee roast. Very low carbonation that gives a heartier mouthfeel. Sooty bitterness. Love the Yoo-hoo chocolate/vanillan thing. A little barky char on the finish. Tastes great cold. Nothing too crazy or intense, just satisfying. Feel is pretty damn filling. I could do with a little less alcohol. So creamy really, so I could care less what tomorrow feels like right now. Good for the early spring city humidity. Ice cold really works. As with all the BK reserve beers, I think this one is already gone, or just about.

CBF09. From tap. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Roasted malt and slight chocolate aroma. Flavour has the same malt driven notes with a light acidic touch. Vague vanilla into the far finish. Smooth and easy.

Bottle 75 cl. Pours an opaque black with a small light brown head. Delicious and lightly sweet coffee aroma. Medium body, hard roasted malts and pleasant coffee accents with some vanilla touches. Both malt sweetness and malt bitterness in the finish. Perfectly balanced. 160509

On tap at the Brooklyn Brewery. Opaque black, slightly oily, thin beige head. Aroma of cold pressed coffee, slightly nutty, slight chocolate. Flavor is all coffee, some nuts, some chocolate, dry crackers. Full bodied, bitter coffee finish. No alcohol presence. Very good.

Big thanks to kiefdog. Pours deep darkness with semi loose head afloat in a creamy mocha colored sea. The aroma is noticed from a foot away with little effort bringing forth robust yummy rich dark roasted coffee backed up by a thin layer of chocolate and caramel. The taste begins vaguely roasty and then moves into more robust roasted malt notes and growing dark roasted coffee. The coffee peaks toward the finish with a delicious layer of chocolate and caramel lingering into the after taste.
