750ml bottle from Alko. Pours golden color, deep, no head. Lots of honey in aroma, sweet, wood like notes. Has some sweet white wine character to it, mixed with sweet honey. Round, smooth, easy sipper. Pleasant. One of my first mead ratings, so not much reference. Will try more meads for sure.

750ml bottle. Clear orangey gold colour, no head - afew shortlived large bubbles, and a rich honey aroma. Taste is sweet, honey, floral, woody, light spice. Syrupy mouthfeel, medium bodied, low carbonation, warming finish. Quite OK.

Golden orange. Tempting aroma of fresh honey. Taste has an unwelcome bitter/sour kick, sweetens on the way down. Palette unsatisfyingly thin. Wish this was better.

Bottled. Almost clear golden. Intense orange/methe aroma. Sweet with evident honey flavour. Summer blossom and oranges. Liqueur-like sweet and warming finish. Concentrated and candyish, in a good way.

Amber color. Some aroma of honey and caramel, honeycomb. Semi sweet flavor, with caramel, cane sugar, and little honey flavor.
Pleasant, sweetish, but also basic.

Golden color. Very nice aroma, with honey, perfumy, fruity (strong), a bit soapy too. Dense, sweet, with a very nice fruity character (prunesโฆ), and a light woody touch; it has correct acidity; in the final there is a trace of bitterness (undesired). Very good.

A tasting sample from English Heritage @ Stokesay Castle, Shropshie. Pours clear golden with no head. The nose has notes of honey and alcohol. The taste has a deep honey flavour. The palate has a big structure and an oily texture. The finish is not quite as clean as I would have preferred, but the big alcohol has made this difficult. This is good, but itโs difficult to differentiate between different meads to the same extent as it is possible to differentiate between different beers.

Bottle, 14.5%. Spicy aroma, hint of aniseed or perhaps cough syrup. Clear dark golden colour. The flavour is very sweet and nicely spicy. Has a good honey flavour and a hint of aniseed.
