Bügelverschlußflasche: Reddish-amber coloured, small off-white foamy layer, extreme sherry-like aromas: old wine, yeast, wood and some dried fruits; moderate to solid sweet flavour, full bodied; dryish, very Fino-like finish. Very good experience.....

Bottle, 11.5%. Aroma of paint thinner. Almost clear dark brown colour. The head disappears instantly. The flavour also has a little paint thinner, then some toasted bread notes, roasted. Some alcohol, but not extreme.

2012-04-20, bottle from Abseits Café, Bamberg, 5-3-4-2-8=22
Flat amber color, no carbonation. Oxidized aroma. Semi-sweet flavor of caramel, oxidized, with light acidity and mold; completely off and undrinkable.
2011-06-06, bottle from Abseits Café, Bamberg,
Dark mahogany color; the medium-sized head reduces to a thin sparse layer. The aroma is intense, lucious caramel, pleasantly corrected by an alcohol vein, like a quality liquor; light ripe fruits and very light phenol. The mouthfeel is less thick than expected, too alcoholic, with caramel flavor that is oxidized, and a dusty trait; there is some fruitiness from the yeast, but the yeast has been working too much and the alcohol perception is too high. Dusty and warming final, with liquorice, paint thinner and other chemicals. The bitterness is ordinary.
Chaotic and unbalanced, too alcoholic: maybe change the yeast…

Angenehm bitter.

Bottle from the Josh&Sunshine UPS Oddysey package. The only bottle which had actually leaked, and now I understand why: The Porcelain stopper of the patent cork had actually fractured. Somehow the remainder and the rubber seal managed to keep most inside the bottle and even kept it carbonated. Earthty, light briny aromanote. Cloudy red-brown, fine golden layer on top. Starts on a fairly strawberry earthy note, then gets more savory, balsamico comes to mind, a hint mossy wood. Uderlying sweetness gives it a solid body, fine sparklyness on the tongue prevents it from being sticky. Dry finish. Rather pleasant I thought.

Bottle 50cl. w. swing top.[ Courtesy of Beershine & Oakes ]. Unclear dark red amber color with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, berry, raisin, plum. Flavor is heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, and a dry fruity finish. Body is medium to full, texture is oily - creamy and sticky, carbonation is soft. [20090704]

Amber, slight haze. Malt accented nose is slightly earthy with a hint of toffee and maybe a slight burnt note. Fairly rich character is almost cloying but not quite. There’s a light fruitiness - a burnt cherry or peach character - that accentuates the earthiness of the malt. Pairs nicely with old gouda.

Bottled at PBF. Clear nut brown, almost no head. Caramelly malt. Sweet and fll bodied with lots of caramelly malt. Chewy with dextrose and alcohol, fairly low levels of hops. Low bitterness. Needs either aging or more hops, but I reckon the point of this beer is more to test the malt than anything else.
