Leafer Madness Imperial Pale Ale was created during the great hop shortage of 2008, but there is no shortage of hops in this beer. Brewed with large amounts of 2-row malt, Munich malt, and multiple hop varieties, this 9% ABV, 100+ IBU hop monster quenches the thirst of those who crave the lupulin!

Bottle, 22oz, at RBNAG -09. It’s a hazy, orange beer topped by an off-white head. Nice piney and citrusy nose, sweet impression too. Sweet, fruity flavor with resins and white sugar, good bitterness that lasts. Full-bodied, almost sticky sweet. A beer that is really easy to like, but a bit on the sweet side. 091107

650 ml bottle sampled@RBNAG 2009, Vatlandsvåg. Hazy orange body with a thin off-white head. Aroma is fruity like grapefruit, peaches and oranges. Flavor is fruity like American hop varieties, specially grapefruit with a rather intense, long, green hop finish. Not really complex, but really refreshing and balanced.

Bottle, 9% ABV, RBNAG 2009 in Vatlandsvåg. Deep golden colour, moderate head. Fairly nice aroma of American hops, also notes of crystal malts and some caramel. The flavour has a distinct hoppy bitterness from start to finish, alcohol is noticeable but the beer is not too sweet.

Bottled. An unclear golden beer with a lazing off-white head. The has strong notes of grapefruit and peaches as well as lighter notes of malt. The flavor is sweet with lovely strong notes of grapefruit, peaches, and hops, on a malty and caramel back ground, leading to a bitter finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

Cloudy golden color; creamy head. Strong aromatic hops, building a nice fruity aroma and a good resiny flavor; there is a good caramel flavor too, with the necessary sugar. Long final, complete, powerful too. Solid, well brewed, very pleaant.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of BelgianBeerGal. Pours a hazy deep golden with an off.white head leaving a little lacework. Soapy, perfumy hop aroma. Medium body, sweet fruit and caramel, again perfumy hops. Rather solid bitterness. 220909
