Bottle. Poured a dark reddish brown color with a medium sized off-white head. Aroma was malts, caramel, touch of sweet fruits (apples). Flavor was caramel, rich earth malts, toasted notes. Fantastisch!

Bottled 500ml. -Dark amber coloured, medium sized off-white head, vinous caramel nose. Slight roasted malt, caramel and light grassy with mild notes of dark fruits. Quite dry finish. Good dunkel.

Bottle at Jimmy’s No. 43, during the Michael Lovullo Tasting Session. Poured a light, ruby-brown with a faint head. Very malty aroma, some hints of honey. Quite a sweet flavor, with caramel, molasses, and raisin, with modest roast. Medium in body with average carbonation. Really nice beer.

Deep copper color with a medium beige head that settles slowly to leave good lacing. Aroma has nuts, licorice and pine. Flavors have plenty of sweet roasted malts and some light spice. Very nice.

Roasted oats and barley with hints of horehound on the nose, rather like kibble. Brown with a thin cream colored head. Tastes just as expected with the balance tipped even more toward the malty side. Simple, but tastes fine. Mouthfeel is somewhat watery.

Nice deep brown coloured body with a non-existant head and very minimal bubbles. Aroma of roasted malt, nuts, a bit of dark spices and a tiny amount of hops. Medium-bodied; Short maltiness then showing a ton of nuts and a large sweetness. All of that fading in the aftertaste to show some mild maltiness. Overall, a decent dunkel, nothing great in any aspect, the style or the beer. I sampled this 50 cL bottle purchased from Chevy Chase Wine & Liquors in Washington, D.C. on 31-December-2005.

Bottle, pours a deep mahogony, with a thin dark tan head. Aroma is light with pleasant hints of dark malt, light wheat scents and rounds out with some carmel notes. The flavor is very rich with roasted malt at the forefront, the bittersweet flavor of molasses, and light bitterness. The mouth is creamy and makes this beer savory. Not entirely complex, but a very good dunkel. This would be a great dinner beer.

50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden deep orange with a creamy off-white head. Orange fruity and malty aroma. Flavour is sweet and light fruity. Mild caramel malt base with a mild spice note. Ends dry and bitter.

Bottle. Ruddy copper color with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel and fruits and oddities. Medium body with mild carbonation. There’s caramel, there’s fruit, there’s not a great deal of bitter. Yet the finish seems dry, and there seems to be bitter. Rather light overall, but it is a really good lager. Try it and see what you think.

Clear chestnut-amber; small, vanishing white-yellowish head. Oxydized, bready, sweet eggbread. Drier taste, with green leaves flavour, nearly grassy. Medium bodied, ends a bit light, nearly empty. Grist slickness. Following the sample, that shows some tiredness, average Dunkel.
