On tap at the ChurchKey in Washington D.C. The nose features coffee, tree bark and bourbon. On tap there was a very thin tan head. This is a really tasty creation from a small brewery. There is a rich bourbon presence, adding to a significant hop profile, vanilla, and chocolate fudge. There is a t ouch of cream to it, and a clean mouth feel. The body and taste thin out a little early though.

Bottle. Black, dark brown cream. Coffee, vanilla, light sweet bell pepper, a hint chili, fruity. Dry chocolate, coffee, mineral and wood, rosehip, cocoa and vanilla nibs, chili in the aftertaste. Medium body, dry. Booze retronasal. Neat bourbon booziness, dry much better than what I have tried.

Bottle shared at RBScSG in Gothenburg. Pours blackish dark brown with a small mocha head that leaves a small trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty with roasted malts, toasted oats, caramel, vanilla fudge, charred wood, dark chocolate, nescafe, toasted coconut, moist soil and hints of bourbon alcohol. Taste is sweet, bitter and malty. Mouthfeel is soft, round, tiny viscous, tiny boozy and medium bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with roasted malts, caramel, vanilla fudge, charred wood, mocha coffee, moist soil and hints of bourbon alcohol. Solid bourbon-forward offering. A bit thin which holds it back. --- Beer merged from original tick of Bourbon Sidamo on 12 Jul 2015 at 00:32 - Score: 7
