Flasche (33 cl).

2010 vintage bottle thanks to Phatdog1. Thanks Craig! Snifter show a nice dark red color with fast vanishing head. Aroma is huge raisins and dark fruits. The flavor has layers of malt. Caramel, toffee, raisins, plum notes and a sugary note. Maybe even a dried fig flavor. The alcohol is mellowed after the amount of age and the sweetness helps cover it up for sure. A nice mild alcohol warming is felt after the sip. It warms the stomach nicely. The texture is lightly syrupy but not sticky. This is delightful to sip. I need to cellar more of this.

Refrigerated 2010 11.2 oz. brown bottle poured into a trappist glass. Pours clear dark amber with small off-white head. Aroma is nice dark fruit, low carbonation, medium body, and some small bubble lacing. Taste is sweet dark fruit and some alcohol. I would have guessed a sweet quadruple which the alcohol peaks.

2010 bottle from the state store
Appearance: Pours clear dark amber with a small off-white head, no lacing
Aroma: Toasted malts, caramel, bourbon, raisins, cherry and vanilla
Taste: Smooth sweet malts, chocolate, vanilla and ripe dark fruit
I am pleasantly surprised about this beer, I’ve been holding on to this for about a year. It is very smooth and balanced. Only a hint of alcohols. I need to pick up some more.

Bottled in 2010 Pours a deep clear medium copper color with faint hints of orange at the edges. A seemingly endless stream of carb bubbles rise to the surface creating an off white head that persists forever. The smell is quite sweet with wafting aromas of prunes, plums, burnt sugar, caramel, and sweet candy sugar. There’s a hint of alcohol in there as well but at 14% I imagined there would be and it seems well integrated. The taste is quite sweet and syrupy. Candied and burnt sugars are up first followed by light bits of dark fruits then a bit of wet cardboard and a long lingering warming alcohol in the finish. Thick body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet sticky syrupy mouthfeel. I enjoyed this one, but it is a big beer and definitely a sipper. Not something I would drink often, but nice to try.
