Bottle in Schlitz. Light clear golden. Grainy, sweet sour, reminds me of an alcohol free shandy. Front heavy, oily soapy, flowery. Needs more crisp, more bitter, less grainy.

Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is grainy malt with mild grassy notes, hay, and some pronounced noble hops in the finish. Flavour is light to moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Body is a little below medium. Clean and nicely grainy, pretty good.

500ml bottle. Opalescent, orange golden colour with average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Minimally strawy, pale malty and slightly floral, hoppy aroma. Taste is floral and slightly herbal-leafy hoppy, slightly spicy, pale malty basis with subtle residual sweetness, hints of thistle and nettle, a touch of grape sugar. Slightly oily, watery texture, smooth and soft, minimally greasy palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation. Clean, balanced, drinkable - very nice. [Of course Helles Alt is not a Kölsch. This comment is not reflecting the Cologne-Düsseldorf enmity; Helles Alt rather belongs to the (Westphalian) Münsterland Area, but has become a very rare traditional style nowadays.]

Gold with a frothy white head. Cereal aroma, a touch grassy. Taste is mildly sweet, with a clean and crisp bitterness to round out the finish. A hint of apple at the end. Medium body with soft carbonation. Well rounded, drifts down feathery light. Pleasant enough.

Bottle @ home. Clear golden color, decent to medium sized white head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma is hayish. Taste lightly malts, hay, lightly bitter. I don't get the "fruity and tangy" flavors the description says the beer has, but it's a very fine kolsch imo. Maybe not stylewise (I know nothing about that) but it definitely tastes fine to me.

Bottle. Clear golden color with white head. Aroma is grainy, earthy, papery, dog food. Taste is the same. High carbonation. What exactly is Kölschy about this?
