Aus der Flasche im 2017-11 getrunken. Dieses Barley Wine kommt etwas gehopft typisch im Englischen Stil daher. Ein tolles aber auch richtig fettes Teil. Skål!

From a 330ml bottle on 29/7/2017. Pours a light amber with the barest of heads. The nose is pleasantly malty, with lots of caramel and toffee, treacle and brown sugar, with lots of zesty citrus fruit (orange, lemon and grapefruit) in the mix.. The sweetness is bet a big, distinct bitterness, which lingers in the mouth. The palate is sticky and syrupy, with the carbonation low. Drinks pretty easily for 13.2%. While I had some reservations at the start, I was a believer as I had the lat sip. An Impressive big beer.

Botella 33 cl en el Lúpulo Oviedo 25..04..2017. Sin lote ni fdcpref en etiqueta. (r156).

Deep amber beer. Off-white head. Average lacing. Rich malty aroma. Very style-like. Nectar, nuts, melon, tropical fruit. Full body. The flavour is boozy still not alcoholic. Nectary, medium bitter. Good

330ml bottle. Clear deep amber with a cream cap, leaving a fair bit of sediment in the bottle.3+ Aroma is rich but not overtly boozy, with crème brûlée, figs, marzipan, Indian sweet shop spices. Threatens to be very sweet and delivers in spades, but with a big bitter kick at the end. Well, there is a fair bit of overt alcohol after all. I like the fudge/ caramel/ burnt caramel nuances in the aroma but they seemed to get lost. OTOH I like the firm bitter finish that might have caused it them to get lost. Doesn’t justify its strength but runs it reasonably close.

Bottle. Hazy reddish amber color with creamy eggshell head. Aroma is green apples, alcohol, sugar. Taste is green apple peel, sugar, ethanol. Oily mouthfeel. Way too harsh and alcoholic. Not good, it tastes like it?s mixed with schnaps. Did I get a bad bottle?
