Hercules Double IPA is not for the faint of heart. It is, however, fit for the gods. Hercules delivers a huge amount of hops from start to finish. Its hefty backbone of nutty, malty sweetness balances its aggressive hop profile.

Deep translucent amber pour. Almost zero head with some lacing. Grassy piney and floral hop aroma. Yum. Big hoppy flavor - pine and citrus peel as well as floral and sweet. Creamy sweetness, very nice. Finishes with boozy bitterness. Really good DIPA.

Appearance: Hazy deep orange golden color with a big thick frothy white head that leaves a fine lacing.
Aroma: Rich balanced grapefruit hoppy and mild tropical fruity.
Palate: Medium to full body. Slightly sweet, and a rich balanced bitterness. Average carbonation. Oily texture.
Taste: Rich grapefruit hoppy, rich fruity and a deep malty back. Well hidden alcohol.
Overall impression: Pleasant and tasty DIPA. As a friend said: More of everything. Yes...read the label: Double….easy as it seems.

355ml bottle. Orangey amber colour, foam off-white head leaving some lacing and aroma is malt, floral hop, resin, pine. Taste is sweetish malt caramel, citrus grapefruit, pine hop bitterness, with some earthy grassy alcohol notes. Oily mouth feel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, warming dry bitter finish.

It’s like this beer tries to smash your face with hops. And it succeeds in a delicious way. Thanks to the creamy undertones it’s not only an assault of bitterness, but a balanced journey into extreme hop Valhalla.

Brought to me from Denver, CO. Double IPA sounds good and the bottle looks great too. It is actually my second try from Great Divide Brewing, first was their rye beer. Label design on this one shows a bodybuilder, probably Hercules - this beer must be good for exercise freaks :) Beer looks like an IPA should look like, head is small but keeps well. Aroma is floral, sweet fruits and something fresh. No hint of alcohol even though there should be 10%. Taste - hops, hops, sweet caramel, hops and hops. This is nice! Very full bodied, sweet and exploding with taste! Bitterness lingers for long after everything else has disappeared. Great beer to sample and I will have several more if I go to Denver next time!
