Hercules Double IPA is not for the faint of heart. It is, however, fit for the gods. Hercules delivers a huge amount of hops from start to finish. Its hefty backbone of nutty, malty sweetness balances its aggressive hop profile.

Pours somewhat dizzy copper with a big slowly settling light beige head with lots of lacings. Aroma is tropically fruity, mango, overripped fruit overall, some honey and a tiny yeast tone. Taste is big and aggressive. Initially sweet and bitter on the palate, with candied sugar and a massive grape attack, tones of overriped fruit, orange, nut creme and honey, before finishing with a slight salty liquorice/salmiak tone and a looong lingering bitterness. Medium to big body, medium carbo with quite big bubbles which adds a freshness to this compact beer, oily texture. Very big and rough, yet balanced.

Lots of citrus and malt. Comes together well with good floral essence. Orange with good head and lacing. Finishes pretty bitter. Hoppy and boozy on top. Tap at some bar.

Tap at Brewdog, Sheffield. Hazy orange. Off white head. Thick, chewy, orange marmalade. Taste is thick sweetness, offset by a medicinal, grapefruit bitterness. Bitter finish builds, and lingers. Tasty gear.
