Cask at PoW, Farnborough. Aroma is chocolatey with a hint of charcoal. Darkest brown - looks black outside of the light. Thin microbubbled beige head retreats to the rim. Initial sour berries. Creamy edge. Underlying chocolatey malts. Medium bodied. Creamy. Flat carbonation. Long dry finish. Peasant enough Mild.

26/11/2021. Cask at The Orange Tree, Chelmsford. Pours black with a small off-white head. Aroma of ash, chocolate, roasted malt, blackberry, dark fruits. Moderate sweetness, light roasted bitterness. Moderate body, slight watery oily texture, soft carbonation. Decent, could have done with a bit more body.

Pours dark as the night, with a small frothy off-white/beige head, and a mild aroma of fruity malt. Very smooth, with hints of dark fruit and a touch of coffee in the flavour, perhaps some liquorice coming through, and a slightly bitter finish

Cask at the Lifeboat, Margate on 19th July 2021. Deep sepia with tan foam and scant lacing. Roasty malt aroma. Coffee roast malt in-mouth with leafy hop notes. A finish of roastiness and tangy fruits. Light bodied with a smooth mouthfeel.

Cask @ Bod, Newport, Shropshire. Pours black, beige head. Liquorice on the nose. Taste is pleasantly liquorice-forward with soft coffee roast, soft sweetness, good stuff, great condition.

Bottle from Quex Farm Shop, near Margate. Dark brown, light fizz, decent beige head. Sweetish and fruity up front, with liquorice, blackcurrant, plain chocolate and a little earth. Light smoke with a little dryness and slight bitterness in the finish. More blackcurrant in the aftertaste. Decent, full-flavoured mild - I enjoyed it despite not being the biggest fan of liquorice flavours.
