While the malt and hops give this beer an amazing copper color, medium body, and a smooth mouth feel; it’s the yeast that sets this one apart from other amber ales. Inspired by Belgium’s beer, women and mussels we thought it would be cool to give our Amber a little Belgian touch. We accomplish this by using an “almost Belgian” yeast strain producing similar esters and flavors commonly found in more traditional Belgian beers.

An OK amber ale. Light red color and moderate carbonation. Aroma has some home, and overall this is more bitter than most of the style. Some grass in the flavor. Dry, malt finish.

Bottle courtesy of moejuck: Poured a medium cloudy amber color ale with a small foamy head with minimal retention. Aroma of semi-sweet caramel malt with a faint yeasty presence is somewhat bland. Taste is refreshing with some semi-sweet caramel malt with a definite yeasty presence and no discernable hops. This was not a bad beer overall but still not something I would drink often.

bottle - Pours amber (duh) with very little head. It smells of malts and lots of yeast. The caramel malt and yeast flavors are accented by some mild hops. There are seriously a lot of yeast flavors there for an amber ale. Medium bodied and easy drinking, this beer is fairly good, though I’ve had better from this brewery.

Well they seem to have described it to the nail in the commercial description. Tastes like a medium light bodied amber ale with some extra sweetness and a bit of grainy/root-earthiness from the yeast. Smells like a belgian brown ale. Big orange-red color, lots of creamy amber head. Had to really strain to get tons of flavor out of it. Not terribly complex at all, but certainly quite drinkable, had lots of root flavor, rhubarb, lettuce, vegetables. A touch of sugar provided some good balance, but very thin. Interesting.

A not-too pleasant amber ale that pours an amber-orange color (surprised?), topped with a thin, off-white head. Bready, slightly fruity aroma. Flavor is caramely and rather musty, with some fruitiness and floral hops. Finishes slightly bitter. The cloves and mustiness dominate the aftertaste. Doesn't have the rich complexity or barleywine-like qualities of good ambers.
