Backlog October 2016. Dark brown, almost black body under a fine beige head. Aroma has dark malt, caramel, bourbon, wood and vanilla. Taste is smooth with dark malt, caramel, chocolate, bourbon, wood, vanilla and warming alcohol. Fine body and long lasting aftertaste. Nice one.

Bottle. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty chocolate bourbon aroma. Roasted malty chocolate woody bourbon flavor with hints of licorice. Has a roasted malty woody bourbon chocolate finish.

Small brown head. Opaque black body. Earthy chocolatey aroma with mealy spicy notes. Sweet-acidic earthy chocolate aftertaste with vanilla notes. Full-bodied. Mild, mealy mouthfeel, fairly hot. Sweet-acidic earthy chocolate aftertaste. Too acidic and earthy. (0.5l bottle shared by OlavL.)

Bottle. It pours a creamy, two-finger light tan head over a more or less black body. Rather woody aroma with nuts, licorice, some coconut and vanilla, brown sugar and coffee hints. Some dark cocoa. Roasted malts, dark sugars, licorice, some booze and a touch of vanilla in the flavor. Full body and a pleasant carbonation. A bit warming. Lasting roasted finish with licorice and cocoa. Boozy hints too. Not the best of this series, but it’s nice anyway. 150522
