Cask. Shakespeare’s, Sheffield. Hazy gold. Thickish, lasting, bubbly, white head. Sweet, fruity malts. Taste is sweet, turning fairly bitter. It’s very malty. It’s also pretty bland. Didn’t enjoy this one.

Cask @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. Golden with a small head. A fairly well-balanced ale that still gets stated in both malts and hops with a mild fruitiness to it too.

Half pint, cask ale at Sebright Arms in Bethnal Green. Fragile lacing from a thin, white head. Clear golden coloured body. Mild aroma of grassy hops and bread. Orange fruity flavour joined by herbal hops on a backbone of modest caramel sweetness and followed by a fruit hoppy ending. Medium to thing bodied. Easy to drink. Just alright (London 26.09.2014).

Bottle, from Ales By Mail split at Colin and the Vikings tasting, Nol, Goteborg, Sweden 22/03/14. Clear golden with little in the way of a head. Nose is pale malts, light citrics, straw, orchard fruit. Taste comprises pale malt, light citric, apple skin. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. Bland GB affair ... yawn.

Cask at the Lyric - Soho, London. Pours clear gold with a slight, bubbly white head. The aroma holds buttery bread, hints of caramel, soap and orange. Light sweet flavor with grainy malts, mild butterscotch, ripe citrus fruits. Light bodied with soft carbonation. More bread and butterscotch in the finish with light bitter hay and grain husks. Mediocre. Condition is lacking.

Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig, 2012, London. Pours lightly hazy gold with a medium, white cream head. Doughy malt nose, some white sugar. Medium sweet flavor, more basic white sugar. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sugary sweet finish, more dough. It’s fine. Not complex or anything close to it, but enjoyable.

Cask at Stourbridge Beer Festival; missed this from the festival round up, clear golden amber pour with small white head, citrus aroma, citra comes through in the taste quite zesty with a hint if spice.
