We have traversed the globe to Mexico where we celebrate Brett’s love of South American food and the citrus zing of the mighty lime.
Clean and crisp with refreshing tangy limes and a moreish briny finish, this is our perfect summer beer. It originally took inspiration from Sleeping Lemons and the beautiful preserved lemons we use, but the idea developed into a cleaner beer, taking the Corona and lime wedge and stepping it up a notch.
Brewing a beer around the taste of lime naturally led us to using this beautiful citrus fruit, utilising both the fresh pulp and the zest. A clean and crisp base was achieved by using a lager yeast with the lime building an addictive tang to the pallet and a gose inspired flurry of salt adding to the finish. What is it? A lager, a gose, a sour... Who cares. Put simply it is one of the finest accompaniments for the British summertime.

Can from the Wildcat Tap, Stirchley, Birmingham. There's a bit of lime but there's more of seawater and a lactic aroma. Tastes mostly sweet with a touch of possety tang. Just a suggstion of fresh lime juice on the lips. Short finish but that leaves me wanting more. Perfectly carbonated. I enjoyed this delicate and understated beer.

Keg at Beaverex '18, day two, 08/09/18. Hazed golden blonde with a decent off white covering. Nose is lime juice, citric tinged straw, lemon rind, pissy tang. Taste comprises lime opal fruits, grassy, faint herb, toasted grains, the lightest flicker of funk. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok gose if a touch 1D on the lime front!

Can from Noble Hops, Aberdeen. It pours lightly hazy bright golden with a decent foamy white head. The aroma is quite savoury, salty, ritz crackers, seawater, lagety malt and zingy dried lime. The taste is firmly dry, slightly tart, zingy lime, salty cracker, soda water, straw and doughy white bread with a dry finish. Medium body and average carbonation. I see what they have done, like a pale lager and lime with a savoury, salty edge. Not as refreshing as I had hoped for, but it's alreet.
