My third bottle (500ml’s) on 22nd Jan 2014 during my second visit to Weiss-Blau, Charlottenburg Berlin. Copper to old gold in body colour, the head a white crown that tried to stay around for a while. Light malty nose, caramel and semi-sweet in nature. The flavours in the actual taste were a little weak to be honest, semi-sweet malts ruled the flavour but it lacked depth and oomph. Pleasant enough but I wanted more from my bottle. There were hints of a nut flavour: but I wanted fruit and nuts with knobs on! I’m being harsh maybe: it was fine, just not as flavoursome as I’d expected or hoped for.

Flasche bei Erika & Hilde, Berlin-Kreuzberg. - Schönes Rotbraun. Betont würzig-malzig, karamellig (Münchner Malz); kremige Textur, nicht zu süß. Nur schwach gehopft. - Angenehmes Märzen, schön süffig.

Wiederholung: vom Faß auf dem Fränkischen Bierfest, Nürnberg, 22.6.2014. - Rotgold, klar. - Malzig-nussige Nase. - Antrunk mild fruchtig-süß mit Noten von Banane. Schön karamelmalzig. Eher mild rezent, vollmundig. Kaum merklich gehopft, was aber dank der runden, würzigen Malzaromen nicht störend auffällt. - Angenehmes Märzen, aber auf Dauer doch etwas blaß.

Bei einer erneuten Verkostung im „Goldenen Lamm“, Wettelsheim, im April 2015 entfaltete dieses Bier für mich zum ersten Mal seinen ganzen Reiz. So schön karamellig-bananig und süffig ist kaum ein zweites Märzen. Schade, daß in der Flasche so wenig davon rüberkommt ... Meine Bewertung hier ist ein Mittelwert.

Weich herber Antrunk, deutlich getreidig, geringe Süße. Erdig malzig, würzig süß, Alkoholtouch. Etwas trockenes Finish. 11/12/11/10/11/11

bottle from Frankenland. Clear golden colour, mid-sized white head. Malty nose. Medium-bodued, malty, grainy, shy hints of apples. Shy hops in the finish. Pleasant carbonation.

Bright. Copper colour. Light caramel nose with crackers and toast. Sweetish caramel character. Good, but doesn’t really stand out.

Bottle (purchased at the Brauerei): Deep golden to copper coloured, small and slowly diminishing off-white foam; a faint tinge of vegetables in the moderate sweet-malty nose, mixed with some very faint traces of roasted malt; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied; illusions of toasted malt in the light sweetish-malty finish. Not so convincing like the other Wettelsheimer products..........

Bottle, thanks pivnizub. Light grainy aroma. Hazy amber, off-white head. Crereal start - peachy base, citric notes. Refreshing. Good drinkable Märzen.

(bottle) Clear, deep golden colour with a mid-sized, slightly off-white foamy head. Sweet caramel-malty aroma, slightly nutty with soft (citrus-)fruity accents and light herbal hoppy notes. Sweet flavour, medium bodied with a pleasantly soft carbonation. Cara-malty, slightly biscuity taste with very subtle fruity notes; medium-dry, moderately sweet, soft grainy and slightly bitter finish with light but present herbal hops, giving the right balance. What a moreish Märzen (09.05.08).
