On tap at Kick. It pours a hazy copper to light brown body under an off-whitehead of moderate size. The aroma is lightly smoked, quite pleasant actually, with caramel hints and some citrus notes. Sort of feels stronger. A little touch of sourness blends in. Sort of perfumed too. The flavor is pretty much the same, blending citrusy and piney hops with smoked malts in a niceway. Soft carbonation, medium body. Lightly smoked finish with a delicious bitterness. Not a beer I’ll have very often, but it blends hops and smoked malts in a nice way. 130427

Pours copper with a fading head.Nose shows some light beechwood smoke along with very prominent spicy rye biscuit-like notes. Also some earthy, herbal hops.Smooth flavours. The smoke is faint but the rye definitely hits out as a spicy, toasty and bready note. Some of the earthy hops remain, followed by an assertive bitterness.Carbonation seems a bit full on.

Keg at Port Street Beer House. Half pint together with Finn. Dense, white, lacing-head, cloudy orange coloured body. Aroma of lightly smoked malts, hints of earth and bread. Subdued dry peaty taste mixed with fresh fruits. Fresh fruity ending, smoked malts far behind. Medium bodied. Likable (Manchester, 27.01.2013).

Keg at Catford Bridge Tavern. It pours hazy amber with a small white head. The nose is smoke, wood, leather and bacon. The taste is orange peel, leather, wood, smoke, spice, rye bread, earth and decent bitterness with a dry, lightly smokey finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Interesting, but I doubt I could drink much of it.
