Port St Beerhouse 27 Jan 13. Fra keg. Mørk aprikosfarget. Lavt tett skum. Litt lacing. Hint av bacon i aromaen. Smaken er bacon med innslag av frukt. Godt gjemt men en aner litt syrlige epler. Tørr syrlig ettersmak. Røyken ligger under hele tida.

Cask, handpump at a Westow House, Crystal Palace, Thursday 16th January 2014 Pours amber with only a tiny head. Smokey in the mouth but only moderately so, fruity but with a bit of body. Good with a buzz, little hoppy sting. Nice. A7 A3 T7 P4 Ov15 3.6

Keg at Hanging Bat. Pours hazy orange, no real head. Light orange aromas, light spice on the nose too, not getting much smoke. Taste has more orange bitterness, oily texture, caramel sweetness with a little more spice. OK.

Cask at the Euston Tap, London on 4th January 2014. Hazy copper with creamy white head and plenty lace. Smoky aroma with citric hops that last through the in-mouth stage. Here the smoke becomes rather ’hammy’ for a brief moment, before returning to firesmoke. Finish sees smoke decrease to leave citric tang. Engaging texture. Fascinating ale. 8-4-8-4-16 November 2023: Cask at CBC, Covent Garden on 19th November 2023. Deep copper with shallow off-white foam and pattern lacing. Earthy, malty and smoky aroma. Woodsmoke, berry fruits and nutty malts in-mouth and a complex finish of malts, smokes and spices. Light bodied with a loose yet engaging texture. Utterly superb. 808-4-9-3-17

Hazy amber beer with a tidy pale cream coloured head. Palate is softish with fine minerally carbonation. Light sweet malt. Tangy zingy sweet orange which provides a great counterpoint to the medium smoke. Finishes smooth with a little creamy malt. Mild smoky aftertaste.

Bottle 660ml. @ [ (Easter "Flags of many nations" Tasting) by Chriso - London ].Unclear medium orange amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, meat, smoke, light rye. Flavour is moderate sweet and light bitter with a long duration, sweet smoke - meat. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20130331]

On tap @ Kick. Quite hazy, reddish orange body with a dense off-white head. Not very strong but distinct aroma of smoke and bacon with some caramel malt and citric fruit. Flavor is quite sweet, smoked malt, citric fruit and moderate bitterness. Fine body and decent aftertaste mainly with smoked malt. Nice, drinkable not to heavy smoked beer.
