Clear ruby/brown with almost no head. Aroma is apple, raisins, cherry pips, bready malt. Taste is phenolic brown sugar sweetness, some slight sourness, and bitter woody stuff. Full body, heavy, very tasty, long finish, not ugly. I like it.

bottle, thanks to Bochum! Slightly hazy copper colour, large head. Oily consistence, low carbonation. Well-blanaced malty flavours with very pleasant hints of caramel. Slightly hoppy in the lingering finish.

(bottle, purchased at the brewery) Clear, copper colour with a mid-sized and slightly off-white head. Sweet, toast-malty and caramelly aroma with a faint note of citrus and a well-blended herbal hoppy touch. Sweet flavour, medium to full body with a soft carbonation. Toast-malty, subtle fruity taste with caramel and earthy hops; sweet and faint bitter toasty finish with a light herbal and slightly metallic hops character. The alcohol is very well-hidden.

Bottle: Light amber coloured, small, but stable off-white foamy layer, restrained, not very sweet, toasted malty nose with a distinctive amount of hops in the background; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied; moderate, as well, malty - with a fruity tinge - and hoppy finish. A bit "tired", but not bad........

Draft. A copper colored beer with a dense orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with light notes of alcohol, berries, and metal. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel, leading to a dry woody, nutty, and alcoholic finish. In the sweet end for the style, and also seems a bit light for the style.

(On tap) Beautiful, clear orangey brown with a small, off-white head. Discreet aroma of roasted malt. Medium-bodied - the alcohol is not really showing - with lovely roasted malts. Sweetish but never sticky although its not very hopped. First beer for a new day of beer hunting and a perfect start it was! 091106
