Barley wines are traditionally hefty brews, but ours is downright excessive. The huge maltiness of this beer is only tamed by an equally prodigious addition of hops, creating a rich, slightly sweet, caramel-hued ale infused with assertive bitterness and bright hop notes, all culminating in a pleasing dryness. While it will evolve into an even more glorious brew with age, this beer's delicious onslaught of flavors will seriously challenge your ability to wait any longer to drink it. Show Less

Flaska från SB, vintage 2014. Klar bärnstensfärgad med smutsvit/beige krona. Apelsinmarmelad/kanderade apelsinskal, kola, karamell, ljus maltsötma, ljunghonung.

Not bad. Aged well. Not overly sweet nice lingering bitterness in the finish.

26th May 2015: part of a four glass flight at the Stone Oceanside outlet. Lovely sweet and tasty brew (2014 brew I believe). Red hue to the brown body, off-white topping. Rich and malty from the start, mild hop notes come later, but this is mostly sweet malts and alcohol.

22 oz. bottle. 2014 vintage. Color is slightly hazy Amber with thin lasting head in a snifter. Aroma is mild dark fruit and caramel dominated by pine hops and light booze.

Medium body possessing a nice lively carbonation level. The flavor is exactly as the aroma with a moderate level of bitterness that lingers after the sip. A layer of earthy resin. The booze is still a tad to noticeable even after a year of sitting. Dry texture with a warming sensation after the swallow. All-in-all still a nice drink.
