Bottle. Dark brown color. Caramel, hints of roast, banana and licorice in the aroma and flavor. Wheaty, sweet. Licorice and even a hint of smoke in the finish. Could be more balanced.

Bottle, extra from het Biermoment, batch CJV 346 BB 20-12-2017, 33 cl sample. Hazy copper color, short lasting frothy head. Aroma has burned and roasty caramel and butterscotch, together with slight grainy malt and a hint of fruity banana esters from the weizen yeast. Bit sweet and caramelly in flavor, bit spicy as well. Grainy and smokey malt come through and give a bit of a sharp edge to it, but not in an unpleasant way. Quite smooth. Medium carbonation. Classic style, classy job.

Bottle courtesy of MonsterMagnet, many thanks! Dark brown-ruby color with beige head. Aroma is prunes, raisins, some fresh yeasts, a bit smoked. Taste is green apples, some raisins, some spicy yeasts, but really mostly phenolic green apples, a little bit smoked as well. Low carbonation, full-bodied. I like green apples, and the phenolic flavour is not to the extent that I find it bad (yet) - but it?s not too interesting. It’s a decent brew (although some people might call it flawed).

330ml bottle, from trade with MonsterMagnet. Many thanks chap! Pours clear mahogany with vibrant off-white head. Smoked aroma, caramel. Taste is smoky caramel, yeast, vanilla, overipe fruit, although some off-putting yeast notes drifting into view. Can’t say I’ve had a smoked weizenbock before. Interesting.

33cl bottle from a trade with Douberd, many thanks! Pours slightly hazy light orange brown colour with a huge mostly good lasting beige head. Aroma of red malt, yeast, rotten fruits, clove and smoked malt. Taste of mild smoked dark malt, caramel, mild chocolate, red malt and yeast, nice!

0.33 l bottle from ’De Bierkoning’, best before December 2017. Hazy, deep red with a medium large, creamy, almost stable, tan head. Sweetish-malty, slightly smoky, a little spicy aroma of smoked ham, honeydew and pear. Sweetish-malty, moderately spicy and slightly smoky taste of banana, pear, honeydew, clove and smoked ham, followed by a medium long, slightly bitter, moderately yeasty-spicy finish with a touch of smoke. Full body, smooth and thick mouthfeel, very soft carbonation. Thick, moreish Weizenbock with an interesting smoky touch. Good!

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Joes and Dutchdrebus. Clear amber color, medium sized off-white to beige head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma is surprisingly smoky. Taste malts, again light to moderately smoke, lightly bitter, light yeast. Don’t really like the flavor, but the aroma is nice.
