Bottle at home, black beer, small head. Aroma is malt, liquorice, lemon, vanilla. Taste is the same, malt, liquorice, lemon, vanilla, bitter, alcohol. aftertaste is bitter, lemon, chocolate, liquorice, quite a sticky dry bitter aftertaste which is rather.. lemony. Nice flavour combo but it gets a bit overwhelming and annoying in the end.

Aus der Flasche (bbe 01.12.2025) im 2023-07 getrunken. Dieses Stout mit seiner dunkelbraunen Schaumkrone ist mit der Lakritze schon eine Herausvorderung für mich, da ich kein Freund von Lakritze bin. Und es zeigte sich ich werde kein Freund mit diesen Bier. Die Aromen erinnern mit an ein Putzmittel für Küche und Bad mit kräftiger Zitronensäure. Sehr würzig das Ganze. Aber nein das Glas kann ich nicht weiter trinken. Ab in den Ausguss. Ein sicher gut gemachtes Bier, aber diese Aromakombination ist nun nichts für mich.

Opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Smooth airy palate, reasonable fine carbonation. The soft rich dark malts deliver a creamy sweetness and mellow chocolate. The lemon punctuates right through the malt base, a rich ripe and juicy lemon. Soft licorice sits just underneath. Comes together in to a fairly light finish and leaves a slightly tangy lemon linger. Different! I would not have thought a lemon dominated Impy would have worked that well but the licorice holds it together. Pretty drinkable.

Bottle with O. Black with creamy, beige head. Loads of lemon/limoncello, Fazer liquorice with lemon, some chocolate. Quite sweet. Works surprisingly well, superb integration of the lemon.

33 cl bottle vintage 2020 @ Jyrchi, BBE 01.12.2025 Aroma has odd bush leaves and nettle tones. Also licorice and lemon. Flavour has salty licorice and lemon. Finishes with tart lemon juice and some licorice tones. The lemon does not quite fit in.

Bottle 2020 Imperial liquorice, lemon and vanilla, 11%. Black with medium dark brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, lemon, lemon curd, caramel, liquorice and vanilla. Flavour is roasted malt, chocolate, lemon, lemon peel, vanilla, liquorice, little lemon curd, lemon grass, sweet and a little bitter.
