650 ml bottle shared by Clarkvv. Quite good. Oak, spicy rye, chocolate. Flavor has a lot rye characteristics with mild raisins, sweet malt and chocolate. The rye character really makes this well balanced.

Bottle pour shared by ClarkVV--thanks, Clark! Opaque, inky black with nice viscosity, no head/lacing. Aroma is bourbon, spicy rye, oak, earthy malt, caramel. Taste is strong bourbon, rye, caramel, earthy malts. Thick, syrupy texture, full bodied, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Excellent strength, balance and good complexity.

Thanks to Clark for bringing this gem. Thick black and small head. Nose is rich dark fruits and bourbon. Yates of wood, rye, plum, raisins, pumpernickel bread, licorice. Smooth and dangerous drinkable for abv. Aged well.

Sample (thanks fonefan!). Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is big time alcohol, but also dark chocolate and some dried fruity tones. Flavour is chocolate, some alcohol, mild bourbon, raisins, some wood and syrup. A bit too sweet, but at the same time.

750mL bottle, pours a deep black with a tiny beige head. Aroma is wonderfully decadent, with tons of decadent bourbon barrels, notes of treacle, dark sugars, and a touch of dark dried fruits. Flavour is remarkably decadent and complex, with a fantastic bourbon barrel expression, dark sugars, some dark dried fruits, a little treacle, and a nice warming effect without being rough at all. The barrel expression is just wonderful, supported by a damn solid base beer. Wonderful.

750ml (thx, Brent!) @ Ryan's. Appearance: very dark brown with a beige red-ish head. Aroma: American oak, sweetness, malty, some chocolate. Taste: explosion of oak, nice level of sweetness, perfect integration of the imperial stout and the barleywine. Overall: very nice.

Pours nice and inky. No head. There is a little reddish accent to the colour, though it is pretty dark brown. The aroma has rich bourbon, light chocolate, toffee, some raisin. Maybe a touch nutty. The body is bourbon, it's pretty big but feels like it could be bigger, with rich toffee notes, again a bitter dark chocolate accent. Caramel as well. Very nice complexity to this.

Poured from 750mL bottle. Dark brown with no head. Old woody bourbon, smooth and balanced, dried fruits, solid.
