Continuance is our series of blended Imperial Stouts, Barleywines and other Spirit Barrel-Aged beers. These beers rested in their barrels of Willett 4 year Bourbon, Willett 8 year Bourbon, Buffalo Trace, BLiS Maple Bourbon and Rittenhouse Rye for 32 to 50 months.
Our final blend consists of the recipes for:
- M.J.K. – a Barrel-Aged English Barleywine
- Anabasis – a Barrel-Aged American Barleywine
- Omega – a Barrel-Aged Stout brewed for Derivation and Beer : Barrel : Time blending
- Vibes – a Barrel-Aged Stout brewed for Derivation and Beer : Barrel : Time blending

On tap at Side Project Cellar. Black with small tan head. Chocolate, vanilla, coffee, bourbon, some dried fruit, figs, prunes. Low carbonation. Full bodied. Dense and thick.

750mL bottle at SP line share, 9/29/23. Dark, viscous. No head. Rich chocolate, spicy bourbon, gooey caramel vanilla and no alcohol, of course. Soft, thick, very, syrupy and rich with heavy vanilla accents and almost a bittersweet character. No alcohol, no excess sugar. Bit of char and gooey fudge. Warming, great acidity. Has held up phenomenally well.

Medium body, oily, sweet and boozy. Lots of raisin and baked fruit, some chocolate, caramel. Some licorice in the aftertaste. Rich, smooth, excellent.

75cl bottle shared with El Birrot crew for the X-mas tasting in Jafre. Big thanks to Isaac for opening this one. No BB.
Noire totale, huile de moteur laissant un filament marqué doré au verre, col fin café au lait.
Arôme est bien malté, café, caramel, fruits noirs, chocolaté avec un effet de winter warmer - bouquet léger de cuire, feuille de tabac séchée qui se font plus présents après une bonne décantation.
Palais est complexe, bien malté avec une bonne profondeur sur le caramel, toffee, fruits noirs avec un côté boozy des 15% qui se révèlent plutôt facile à boire. Le tout passe sur un caractère quasi barleywine avec une petite pointe d'oxydation. Palais présente une petite touche pétillante avec un fini épais et collant aux lèvres - presque avec une impression de Olorosso. Effervescence reste faiblarde.

ABV: 15.0%. Clear dark black brown colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, dark malt, barrel, caramel, barrel - bourbon - vanilla, light coffee. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, roasted, dark fruit, barrel, alcohol, chocolate, wood - barrel, caramel, barrel - bourbon - vanilla, rich. Body is medium to full, texture is creamy, carbonation is soft, finish feel is warming and light alcoholic. [20210925]

Pours black, no head. Scent is roasty, bourbon, full, syrupy. Taste is full, roasty, sweetn bourbon, oak, intense sweetness, yet very smooth. Mild vanilla. Lovely stout.
