Bamberg Bash Day 2. Cafe Abseits tasting. Thanks to the brewer! Clear amber - gold beer, bubbly pale cream coloured head. Light crisp palate. Dominant flavour here is fine whisky marmalade. It hides the abv well. Super drinkable fine ba bock. I’m sure this one tipped me over the edge!

Day 2 of the post Xmas Bamberg Jolly, Cafe Abseits Tasting, bottle big thanks to the baby faced brewmeister, 25/01/14. Orange amber with a moderate off white swirl atop the glass. Nose is dark malt, dark toffee, brown bread, whisky tones. Taste comprises bitter orange, dark fruits, brown sugars, subtle whisky notes, candied sugar, fruit cake notes. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying closure. Solid work, not at all warming, hides the alcohol very well and blends the whisky equally well without ever taking over. Impressive!

Bottle from the brewer at Cafe Abseits and then drunk at home. Clear amber colour with a lasting off white head. Just a touch of whisky on the aroma, but more malt and some syrup. I like it. It’s like a bock with whisky. Some hops on the aroma. It’s smooth and tasty in the mouth. Bit of alcohol sting on the finish. I really liked it. Pretty decent.
