Pours amber from the jug. The soft white head is creamy and lingers for the duration. The aroma is all bourbon, smoke, and peat with just a whiff of vinegar. Taste is sour, lightly bitter, and frankly something like a whisky, beer, vinegar mix . The brew is nearly 3 months past the expiration date. Usually not a problem but in this case it does not seem to have held up. Donated my glass to someone less discriminating.

Red brown cloudy, creamy brown head. Dry grassy, ginlike aroma. Dry lactic roast. dry light body. Nice, not overwrought.

Hazy brown with little white head. Aroma is herbs, sweet bready malts, citrus. Taste is sweet sour phenolic ugly stuff. A little heavier than water. Meh.

Bottle. Brown color with eggshell head. Aroma is coffee, boozy. Taste is coffee, fruity, buttery, quite tart as well. Medium carbonation. Fun beer.

SAMPLE at a tasting. Murky dark amber, small head. Full of smoke and peat. Absolutely dry, and very sour. Probably infected.

Bottle shared at the Cafe Abseits tasting during the Bamberg Excursion. Cheers! Pours copper-orange with a foamy white head. Some juicy, ripe fruits present, moderate sweetness, alcohol, ripe berries. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Warming finish with some pale wood, booze, bread, ripe fruits. Good one.

Bottle 500ml. ceramic - w. swing top. [ As Braumanufaktur Hertl Frankonian Straight Whiskeydoppelbock ].[ Trade by Theydon_Bois ]. Clear medium amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramle, sugary malt, fruity, smoked notes. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, fruity, sugary, alcohol, sweet malt. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20140417]

Bright orange amber colour, small off white head. Aroma is orange marmelade, jammy, some hot alcohols. Flavour is sweet jammy fruits, caramel, orange, and hints of smooth whiskey, unrefined sugars. Very smooth. Palate is sugary sweet. Booze is nicely integrated.
