Grains of Truth is Ommegang’s ale honoring the harvest season. Using barley, oats, wheat, and rye, we’ve brought the mood of fall to life with vibrant and flavorful passion.

Brewed with balance in mind, Grains of Truth reveals a smooth and creamy mouthfeel with light toastiness and gentle sweetness. Bright amber in color from the mixed malts, the beer is balanced with delicate hopping to counter rather than overpower the malt profile.

Bottle pour. Dark orange with a lot of cloudy head. Lemon and orange peel aroma. Definitely picking up the rye in this one. A lot of wheat and dark fruit. This is a very unique beer, and very memorable. Loved it.

Bottle from BOTW. Rustic farmhouse nose, lemon, hay, a touch of funkiness, spicy yeast. Cloudy orange-brown with a tall, rocky head. Spicy yeast flavor, rich malts and grains, somewhat sweet and buttery--or oily, oranges, honey. Crisp and good. Quite complex and flavorful.

Nice golden haze poured into the tulip glass, large white head that leaves great lacing. Aroma of toast, some tropical fruit, maybe some banana from the yeast, flavor is similar with the addition of rye spice that in the beginning is a welcome addition, but by the end is cloying and gets in the way. Finish is largely typical Belgian ale with its sugars that could be better balanced.

Draught @ Tryst, Washington, D.C. Pours slightly hazy amber with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of hops with notes of citrus and flowers. Sweetish and sourish flavour of grain and flowers and citrus, with regular, bitter hoppy notes. OK.

Tap at Alchemy. Unfiltered orange-brown body, creamy steady off-white head. Kind of an ingredient overload. Dry, mineral mouthfeel. Unique certainly, has some depth, at least as far as the grain bill. A wacky mix, almost comes off Sorghum-like. Drinkable, but not a World Class venture. Some marmalade tastes. Grows on you. Multi-grain Marzen. OK, kind of awkward.
