A Czech-Style Dark Lager. With a grist made up almost-entirely of Bohemian malted barley, it has a restrained (but very present) malt quality highlighted by a hint of raisin and the slightest impression of roast. Following primary fermentation it was lagered for over six weeks in one of our horizontal lager tanks. Soft and creamy but with that unmistakable, clean lager finish you’d expect.

Draught @ Vinyl Beer, Manhattan NYC (Apr 2025). Dark brown with red highlights, large foamy dark beige head, caramel-bread aroma, high carbonation, initially sweet then medium bitter caramel malt taste, toffee flavor, smooth body, long finish. Very smooth dark lager.

Sample at the roost pours a deep brown with lots of creamy gray head. Nose is malty and nutty, sweet bread and dark bread, earthy. Flavor falls off a pinch, malty and earthy, bread, some caramel but lacks the complexity of the nose. Finishes nice, soft and fluffy.

Armsby lukr, 1/24/25.
Clear. Deep, dark amber with garnet highlights. Large, creamy, beige head.
Heavy mineral and rich chocolate with mild roast and not-overdone dark malt. Very clean and bright. Really can tell this thing is going to be nicely malty.
And so it is. Rich base malt interacting with the light amount of dark malt to produce a rich honey-and-milk chocolate. Soft and with excellent depth. Dryness comes on the end with lots of fruitiness, but of dry cocoa and mild hop bitterness. Satisfying, clean, very flavorful and incredibly drinkable. Would expect nothing less from a lager from these masters. Only nitpick I can find is wanting it to be a bit more dry, crisp and snappy on the finish.

Fourth leg of my journey. No complaints about the driving thus far, sure that will change at some point.

Fuck Fox Farm for closing so early on Saturdays, but god damn this is majestic. Chewy, raisins, subtle chocolate, silky smooth.

Draught at Tørst: pours dark brown with off white head. Aroma is toast, caramel, maybe a fruity hints. Taste is slightly sweet, little bit of a bitter finish. Pleasant.
