Flaska från SB som stått något år. Komplex med massor av kryddor och apelsinskal. Bra kropp men inte då mycket fatkaraktär. Funkar verkligen trots lite udda smakbild. Mycket gott.

Smells exactly like an old fashioned. Loads of orange peel plus heaps of spice on the nose, and the spice is stronger in the mouth.

On tap at Hopcat Detroit. Pours a near clear deep amber with a near white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has sweet grains and clove with some bitters and light cherry underlying. Flavor has a good amount of clove, cherry, sweet grains and a rye backbone.

Bottle. Murky brown color with no head. Aroma is orange peel, angostura, vanilla, caramel - quite close to an Old Fashioned. Taste is chocolate, vanilla, caramel, again orange peel and angostura, Spekulatius. Nice stuff!

Shared bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours hazy dark copper with almost no head. Aroma of acetone, gingerbread, vanilla, cherries, oranges, Cointreau, ethanol, some caramel. Tastes bitter sweet. Medium bodied, alcoholic warmth, lots of alcohol in the finish. Interesting, but not very pleasant.

Shared bottle at E. C. Dahls evening at Mi2 at Cardinal 30.01.17. Dark brown. Small pale brown head. Strong aroma of coconut, vegetables, herbs, vanilla and unpleasant artificiality. Taste of liquid X-mas cakes, coconut, cloves and ginger. Lots of molasses and coconut in aftertaste. Low drinkability.

Keg at Ma Kelly’s, 14/11/16. Rich mahogany brown with a decent beige cap. Nose is bourbon, toffee, brown sugar, sweet tunes, cocoa dusting, fruit rinds. Taste comprises light oak, fig biscuit, JD & coke, spice, molasses, toffee melt, fruit loaf, demerera sugar. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light boost. Lacks grace and depth for the ABV but an easy enough sipper.

Sample at GABF 10/08/2016, thanks to my sis for assistance with note-taking. Murky brown color with a medium khaki head that recedes steadily. Small patches of lacing. Aroma of malt, oranges and cinnamon. Full-bodied with flavors of caramel malt, citrus, spice and oak. The finish fruity with a malt and cardamom aftertaste. Above average overall.

Tap. Mule Bar, Winooski, VT. Hazy, cherry red. Slim, leggy, beige head. Good looker. Nose has cinammon, clove and baked apple. Some star anise. Everything I dislike in a beer! Taste is alcoholic clove juice. Awful. I’ve a soft spot for Brooklyn beers, but this is never right. Beery medicine.
