Keg at Mother Melly’s - London. Pours clear copper with a foamy, off-white head. The nose has a lot of ripe berries, winter spices and toffee. Medium to heavy sweet flavor with noes of brown sugar, toffee, more ripe berries, dashes of lemon peel, cinnamon, toasted bread. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming and sticky in the finish, with more toasted sugars, toffee, fruitcake, cold-weather spices. Fun in small doses.

750ml cork and wire bottle, bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes shared with friends. Diminishing off-white head. Dotted spots on the glass. Near-clear brown body with a shade of red. Porridge and cinnamon smell. Similar taste of porridge with raisin and cinnamon joined by bread, caramel on a backbone of sherry. Full bodied. Smooth and oily palate. Aperitif qualities (Tromsø 08.10.2016).

Bottle. Pours a hazy amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty bourbon cinnamon aroma. Sweetish malty spicy caramel cinnamon nutmeg flavor. Has a sweetish malty spicy caramel bourbon cinnamon finish.

Bottle at salthorse. Pours deep brown, nose is toffee, vanilla, orange, sherbert, floral, taste is wood, vanilla, gin? Boozy, dry.

Flaske 750ml fra Vinmonopolet Tromsdalen. Champagnekork. Drukket på Lillehøgda sammen med Egil. Mørk amber. Lavt mokkafarget skum. Heftig aroma av alle julens krydder. Smaken det samme - men her dominerer kanelen. Et vanvittig julekoseøl - men blir ensformig.

Mother Kelly’s. Keg. Hazy deep red - amber beer, thin pale tan head. Palate is smooth and fairly light for it’s abv. Good fine minerally carbonation. Sweet malts, cream and caramel. Piney cardamon. Spice. Fair bit of coconut into fruity whiskey. Whiskey spice. Light and creamy finish. Pretty unusual and quite drinkable. Hides the abv well.

Bottle 750ml. [ As Brooklyn Improved Old Fashioned ].Unclear matt medium amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, spiced, brunkager (christmas cake), herbal, cardemomme, nutmeg, light yeasty. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, spicy, herbal, cardemomme, nutmeg, brnkage, caramel, alcohol. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. IMO Way overdone ! not balanced or drinke able at all for me !! [20160520]
