Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of rye, barley, herbs, and wood. The flavor is sweet with notes of rye, barley, herbs, and a bit of wood, leading to a dry finish.

Bottle at KØ16. Distinct vanilla aroma, perhaps more like coconut. Hazy dark chestnut colour. Sweet flavour, very sweet. With vanilla, coconut, cough syrup spiciness. Finishes like rum and cola. As if it is too strong for my health.

75 cl bottle. Pours hazy amber with a small tan head. Aroma is toasted, herbal and slight spiced. Bitter, herbal, cardemomme, nutmeg. Herbal. Dry, toasted and bitter. Dry far finish, spiced too.

On tap at Farmhouse Tap and Grill in Burlington, VT.
This was poured into a flared tulip.
The appearance was a dark malty brown color with a thin rimmed glaze of one finger white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Moderate slim white lacing sticking and then sliding down into the beer.
The smell started off with Christmas spices of allspice, ginger, clove and nutmeg. Light cocoa, coconut and even some subtle coffee bean sweetness blends in.
The taste was basically sweet and spicy with a gentle roast underneath. Light sweet to spicy aftertaste. Slight spicy finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Spicy harshness isn’t overbearing - good use.
Overall, different American Strong Ale to me, weird for me to have something like this at this time of year, but still wouldn’t mind returning to this around Christmas time.

Pours a rich reddish brown from a bottle. Aroma of spice and citrus, big caramel malt and booze. Flavor pretty much follows suit. Alcohol burn is rather big. Good beer.

75cl bottle @ Whale Night, Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours deep brown, small tan head. Aroma is full-on spice. Taste is pretty much just like an Old Fashioned cocktail. Lots of boozy Christmas cake spice, nutmeg, cinnamon and a warming whisky finish. Intense, and well-executed, but couldn’t manage more than a sample.
