Porter aged on plums and sour cherries in Portuguese tawny port barrels with Brett
Ruddy brown color with wisps of beige foam. Nice sour cherry aroma, the medium body is smooth. The taste has good barrel character. Well balanced acidic sour.

500ml @ Sales Force. Appearance: murky brown with a beige head. Aroma: sour and a bit sweet, balsamic. Taste: along the same lines. Overall: no way it's a porter, a Flemish Brown.

Poured from 500mL bottle. Medium dark brown with small off-white head. Wild yeast, port, much more Flanders than porter. Okay (for not a porter).

Deep cloudy brown with a small beige head. Dark woody and sour notes. Woody and sour with not much else going on.

500mL bottle, pours a deep dark brown with a reddish tinge and a small off-white head. Nose brings out a nice mix of wild yeast and port barrels, with a touch of toasted malt. Flavour is moderately tart, with port barrels and wild yeast upfront, followed by some balsamic, light wood, and tart, acidic cherries. Is this infected? Hard to tell given the style. It's not all that complex or deep. Okay, but pretty haphazard; disappointing for Le Castor.

Les Bretts dominent l’olfactif mais restent passablement en équilibre avec les prunes et les griottes. Des notes de caramel discrètes ainsi que le Porto tout en arrière-plan assurent une plus grande complexité. Brune aux reflets orangés, assez opaque, avec une mousse de taille moyenne qui tient relativement bien. Douceur de l’entrée de bouche malgré les Bretts qui sont en parfait équilibre avec les griottes. Les prunes, le caramel et un léger chocolat complètent la palette. Une douceur maltée bien présente attendrit le coté acidulé. Le Porto n’est presque pas ressenti et l’alcool très bien intégré. La corpulence est moyennement légère et on sent d’aucune façon la présence de chaleur d’alcool. Sa carbonatation moyennement élevée et l’apport des Bretts adoucit la lourdeur commune au style. Saveurs maltées, fruits et bretts tout à fait en équilibre dans ce brillant opus.
