Fles thuis geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een troebel bleekgeel bier met een medium witte schuimkraag. Het heeft een aroma van hop en citrus. De smaak is fris zuur en citrus achtig.

Pale golden colour, white head. Starts refreshing with a nice fruity sour note. Becomes a bit unbalanced and somewhat rougher quite soon. Enjoyable nonetheless.

Pours fairly hazy yellowblonde. Medium sized, stable white head. Scent is malty, citrussy and sharp. lemongrass and zesty. Taste is sharp, tart , malty, lactic acid, but balanced and enough to make it interesting, yet not unpleasant. citrussy hoparoma goes along fairly well. Not an amazing beer, but it does kinda work.

Fluffy, white head, fast gone ove big- & lively bubbled, clear golden beer. Sour aroma with lemon, sour milk, lemonbalm, green herbs, green eggplant, Thai herbs. Herbal, orangepeel, curaçoa, again these oriental herbs. Faint, weak citrushints. Light body, medium to good carbonation, some oily traces in the texture. OK, not special. Drinks away nicely, of course. I Thanks to Stef! /I

Sour IPA from a new contract brewer in Adinkerke near De Panne, located in the southwestern most part of Belgium at the seaside. Can at Kantien. Snow white, moussy, cobweb-lacing, slowly breaking but generally very stable head, cloudy lemony-yellow blonde robe. Aroma of moldy lemons, bread crust, unripe mandarin, stale sweat, withering lemonbalm, freshly cut cucumber, lemongrass. Crisp, fizzy onset, minerally carbonation but acceptable for an IPA at session strength as far as I am concerned, clean unripe banana and green apple fruitiness, sweetish but only subduedly so; supple, white-bready pale maltiness, feeling relatively ‘full’ for its ABV and gently soured by a soft lime-like lactic acid edge, shortly before an equally gentle but confident hop bitterness sets in, connecting the dots by marrying its own citrusiness with the lime-like effect of the kettle souring – an example of perfect balancing. The whole ends zesty, bright, dryish and utterly refreshing on a searing hot summer evening, in short, the perfect beer for a heatwave like we are going through now... Very decent for a newcomer, no doubt Brew Society’s expertise plays a part in that, but in any case I am looking forward to trying more Gigant beers if this is their normal quality standard.

25/XII/21 - 33cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck (Vichte), shared @ my parents’ place, BB: 29/X/22 (2021-1606)

Clear pale yellow beer, huge irregular fluffy to aery white head, little stable, adhesive, irregular. Aroma: nice, quite some citrus, grapefruit, juicy, tangerines. MF: lively carbon ,medium body. Taste: quite some citrus notes, lots of grapefruit, good bitterness, dry. Aftertaste: bit grassy, some tropical fruits, juicy, grapefruit, orange peel, nice one! Not really sour, but that’s not a bad thing I guess!

Bottle from Bier van Ollier Festival. Clear pale yellow, thinning, white head. Aroma of kiwi, cucumber, passion fruit, guava, unripe peach, sour cream, lime. Taste has sour peach, passion fruit & kiwi, lactic & lime-like edges over sourdough maltiness. Floral, bit grassy hoppy finish, zesty, bitter but retaining sour citrus (grapefruit). Medium body, slick texture, fizzy, bit minerally carbonation. Further proof that this new brewery knows what it's doing.
