21/VI/24 - 33cl bottle, shared @ Kelderschatten Gentse Biervereniging at Baracuna (Gent), BB: 18/VI/26, Lot 200618, vat 1279 (2024-416)

Clear dark amber beer, small aery irregular yellowish head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: oxidized, caramel, alcohol, dried fruits, earthy, complex, nice! MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sweet start, caramel, earthy, lots of dried fruits, a bit sugary, more alcohol, bitter touch. Aftertaste: alcohol, soft roast, a bit sweet, dried fruits, caramel, some tobacco, earthy, meh. Not as great as I would have hoped from the smell.

Too much alcohol for any form of head. Veiled dark cognac-coloured beer. Sweet, alcohol, fusels, nuts, X-mas cake, portwine, whisky punch. Sweet, alcoholid, and more obvious malt whisky than the nose would have warranted. Finish has walnut and some chocolate, getting more bitter in the process. Fiery alcoholheat & -burn. Oily feel, well bodied. Soft carbonation. A bit hesitating... maybe because Tobermory isn't exactly the most hallowed of malts. Still... Txs to Stef!

My 33 cl bottle took a circuitous route to be delivered to me from the accommodating people at the Struise Beershop, fortunate to get it in these complicated times. The bottle says Tobermory, good by me. A snifter gets the pour, I smell very ripe fruit and alcohol. The drink ultimately, well, this is is nice. Dark plum, raisins, whole grain bread and sorghum. The flavor of a Belgian ale but not the fullness. My view. Really good for the style, like the booziness.

33cl bottle from Prik & Tik Dranken Marlou. F: thin, tanned, very quick gone. C: dark brown, hazy. A: rich malty, mellow fruity, dried fruits, caramel, toffee, pear, red apples peels. T: full malty base, dried fruits, whisky, caramel, toffee, mellow fruity, bit warming alcohol, bit herbal, pear, soft carbonation, quite boozy yet I like it, enjoyed.

Bottle via BEERBOX.be. Hazy dark brown, thin, tan head. Aroma of date, raisin, candied plum, red apple, pear syrup, candi sugar, liqueur, sweet whisky, wet wood, vague varnish, subtle green apple. Taste has very sweet date, pear & red apple over caramelly maltiness, bit biscuity with herbal edges. Herbal hoppy finish adorned with spicy phenols, more dried fruits, wet wood & boozy sweet whisky alcohol. Medium to full body, syrupy texture, flat carbonation. Sweet & boozy but I like it.
