Hand-pulled half-pint in the Fortescue Hotel, Plymouth on 2nd Nov 2019. Not too sure what I expected; a fruity brown sauce aroma and flavour maybe? Anyway what I got was a very pleasant Brown Ale, an off-white crown sat on a clean brown body, it looked fine. There was a roadside berry fruitiness but not a 'Daddies' fruitiness. Slight malty sweetness throughout, but not as interesting as I had hoped for.

Bottle from the brewer's own stall at the Dartmouth Food Festival. Dark brown with a swiftly vanishing beige head and a rather assertive fizz. Roasty chocolate, a little fruit (blackcurrant?), a touch of spice, some cola. Dry finish, maybe a little too dry. Not a bad brown ale though, maybe heading towards a porter.
